I always ask myself if I would stay at the hotel again? No!! Because there are newer better hotels. I actually left the hotel one day earlier than I wanted to because I need to wash my hair so Sheraton here I come. I like the little pool and service was okay but nothing special. So they downgraded my booking to a one bed room! The room they gave me was half the size of the room that I booked. You can't flush toilet paper down the toilet they want you to put it in a garbage can which to me says hostile not hotel! I'd booked a hotel with two beds and the air conditioner didn't work unless you like your room a nice sexy 87° f. Sugary juice no coffee but you're supposed to make your own coffee with they're gross looking coffee pot. This hotel has terrible water pressure and no hot water I haven't washed my hair in 5 days.! Breakfast here used to be decent I've stayed here five times before. Stay away, they only care about taking your money.… other properties will- don't risk this place that has no concern for your safety. The 4 other hotels on my trip all gave refunds. the hotel never expressed concern, and repeated that i dint get a refund because I dint show up. My friends still went, used the other 2 rooms and also confirmed my illness. They have advised that because it was AFTER my check in date of Dec 28 they cannot refund. The hotel received this confirmation on the morning of December 29. Because i was sick, and my test was a rapid test that was thrown away, it took me a bit of time to get documentation confirming the positive result as I had to ask for a confirmation letter. the next day I received an email requesting proof of testing positive. The property was contacted on December 26, and said that their supervisor would contact in the morning about if a refund was possible. I had to cancel one room on boxing day due to testing positive for Covid. I booked 3 rooms for 2 nights December 28 &29. The next time I return to Isla, I will book my entire stay at Bahia !!!! Muchas Gracias Luis. I ended up booking a flight out & leaving the next day. The staff at Bahia was kind, considerate, helpful and attentive. It was perfect & I am so grateful for Luis, housekeeping, the cooks in the kitchen and the sweet overnight man. the room had a mini fridge, safe & private balcony. I took a hot shower with amazing water pressure, ordered delicious Chicken Chilaquiles from room service & had a much needed nap !!! The King size bed was so comfy, sheets were clean & sooo soft. Luckily someone checked out early, Luis had the room cleaned Muy Rapido & I had a room by 10am with an Ocean view. He also told me I was welcome to relax by the pool & he would hold my bags. He listened to my situation & was so kind to let me check in as soon as someone checked out. At 7am when the morning front desk person arrived, Luis.
The overnight front desk man was very nice & let me sit in the lobby to wait, offering coffee & water.
I actually stayed there three years ago in the same presidential suite & payed less for 2 days !! I arrived at the Bahia hotel around 6:30am to find out they did not open until 7am. One even tried to offer me the presidential suite for $634 a night but if I checked in at 6am I could only stay until Noon !!! So $634 for 6 hours. I went to three different hotels on the island & all of them told me "Sorry no check in until 3pm". So at 5am, I am a female, alone on Isla with the shoes on my feet clothes on my back, my bags, wallet & passport. Two nights before we were scheduled to leave a huge drunken fight broke out among some of the family, punches were thrown & when I tried to break it up I was kicked out with no where to go. I was in Isla with friends & family for a wedding renting a house on the playa norte.
